    Surgically altering our pets for purely cosmetic reasons is not kind or wise,’ she said.  </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>’Unless there is some health need for the animal, as there can be for example with some breeds, we should love them just the way they are,’ she added. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>Keith Guo, spokesperson for PETA, told MailOnline that owners perhaps should reconsider their choice of getting a pet in the first place if they feel that they need to alter their animals’ appearance. </p><p class=”mol-para-with-font”>’Any kind of unnecessary surgery that puts our pets under the knife poses a risk from wounds and infection. If you are looking for something “pretty” to show your friends, buy a necklace,’ Guo said.</p></div>
