because the people were increasingly afraid to talk about politics – because there was a threat of arrest for people who wanted to talk about community politics, they became silent because of this threat.

There are more and more parties who think that people are now afraid to talk about political issues and because of the threat of arrest by law enforcement officials that they feel arbitrarily. This survey, which targeted random respondents, showed that 39 percent of residents stated that the public was often or always afraid to talk about political issues, and 32 percent said this.

people’s fear of talking about Latest political events and news issues rose from 14 percent in July 2009 to 39 percent today. This survey also shows that 51 percent of respondents think that Indonesia’s political conditions are bad because people are always or often afraid to talk about politics, while 26 percent think that political conditions in Indonesia are in good condition.

This tendency needs to be taken seriously by the government considering that in a democratic society, citizens should have the courage to discuss political issues, organize themselves, and not worry about security forces, and not be afraid to implement their religious teachings.

About 47 percent of the citizens think that Indonesia’s economic conditions are bad because the people are always or often afraid to talk about politics, while 31 percent think that the economic conditions are good.
